Rental Inspector - Full-Time

The City of Macomb, Illinois, is hiring a Full-Time Rental Inspector for the Office of Community
Development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct inspections of residential rental properties to ensure compliance with applicable
codes and ordinances
• Issue notices of violations, conduct follow-up inspections, and assist with enforcement
activities
• Respond to inquiries from tenants, landlords, contractors, and the public regarding rental
and property maintenance requirements
• Maintain accurate inspection records, rental registrations, reports, and departmental
documentation
• Assist with permits, payments, code enforcement complaints, and other Community
Development operations
Requirements:
• Two years of experience in inspections, construction, remodeling, property maintenance, or
related field preferred
• Working knowledge of property maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical
systems preferred
• Strong communication, customer service, conflict resolution, and organizational skills
• Valid Illinois driver’s license and residency within McDonough County required
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary: $45,174.33-$60,232.44 annually
