The City of Macomb, Illinois, is hiring a Maintenance Worker (Operator I in Training) for the Water
Production & Distribution Division.
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate small tools, equipment, and heavy machinery as qualified
• Perform manual labor, record-keeping, and follow safety protocols
• Work in varying weather conditions; lift up to 50 lbs as needed
• Preferred knowledge of water mains, storm sewers, and street maintenance
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED
• Class B CDL within 180 days of hire
• Residency in McDonough County
• Pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary: Starting Salary $40,958.05 annually
• Additional compensation opportunities may be available upon successful completion of
required training, certifications, and operator licensing associated with the position.
