The City of Macomb, Illinois, is hiring a Temporary/Seasonal Part-Time Line Worker for Macomb City
Public Transportation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform daily inspections of transit vehicles, including checking fluid levels and reporting
maintenance concerns
• Clean, fuel, wash, and prepare buses and vans to ensure they are safe and ready for daily
service
• Deep clean Demand Response vehicles as needed
• Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals in accordance with OSHA guidelines and
agency procedures
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Assist maintenance personnel and support daily transit operations
• Report safety hazards, vehicle damage, and operational concerns promptly
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
• Previous custodial, maintenance, or transportation experience preferred but not required
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team with strong communication skills
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary: $16.29-$21.72 hourly
