The City of Macomb, Illinois, is hiring a Full-Time Demand Response Driver for the Transit
Division.
Key Responsibilities:
• Safely transport passengers throughout McDonough County using demand response,
paratransit, and microtransit services.
• Assist passengers, including individuals with disabilities, while providing courteous and
professional customer service.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety
concerns.
• Maintain communication with dispatch, follow assigned schedules, and accurately collect
and report fares.
• Complete required reports, training, and other duties assigned by the Demand Response
Operations Supervisor.
Qualifications
• Must be at least 21 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a valid Illinois driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to operate transit vehicles, computers, mobile technology, and two-way radio
equipment.
• Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills with the ability to
work effectively with the public.
• Ability to pass required pre-employment screenings, including a Department of
Transportation (DOT) physical and drug test, and perform the physical requirements of the
position.
Compensation & Benefits:
• Salary Range: $33,880.76-$45,174.34
• Comprehensive benefits include vacation, personal and sick leave, paid holidays, IMRF
participation, health insurance with single coverage paid by the City, optional dental/vision,
life insurance, 457(b) with 1% City match, and flexible spending options.
