WASTEWATER PLANT DIVISION

The City of Macomb, Illinois is currently seeking applications to fill a position in the Wastewater
Division of the City of Macomb Public Works Department. The position to be filled is a
Maintenance Worker. Once the correct license is obtained, advancement can be made to
Operator I.
This position assists in completing tasks related to the operation and maintenance of the City’s
Wastewater Treatment Plant. The successful applicant shall have the ability to operate small
equipment and hand tools; operate heavy equipment, as qualified; and perform manual labor
to complete assigned tasks. Following directions and performing recordkeeping are essential.
Working safely and independently in an environment that is sometimes undesirable is required.
A Class B CDL license is required within 180 days of employment. Residency within McDonough
County will be required along with a pre-employment physical, drug screen and background
investigation. High school diploma or GED required. An Operator I position requires
appropriate licensing.
The salary range is $35,501.27 – $50,119.45. City of Macomb full-time benefits include group
