About Us

Working with West-Central Illinois businesses since 1989 and now in the Quad Cities with an International Trade Center, the IL SBDC at Western Illinois University—Macomb and the IL SBDC/ITC at WIU-Quad Cities provides FREE, confidential one-on-one advising, training and research to assist small businesses to start, grow and sustain.
Our counseling services are FREE of charge. We do offer some specialized workshops such as QuickBooks and Microsoft software training for a nominal fee.

The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and the International Trade Center (ITC) work with small businesses to a create a more vibrant small business community in the region. We work with all small businesses in the areas of business feasibility, business plans, acquiring funding, and international growth opportunities.

With two offices, one in Macomb and one in the Quad Cities, we cover a 22-county region with a population of over 600,000 Illinois residents. Our free services enable entrepreneurs to receive one-on-one advising for new ventures, growing businesses and those looking to expand through international trade.
