Description: Responsible for all facets of the public education/prevention campaign for the Sexual Violence and Domestic Violence Program.

Rate of Pay: $21 per hour

Minimum Level of Education/Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in education and one year’s work experience in education or within similar program or combination of education/experience in a related field.

License or Certification Required: Must have a valid Illinois Driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Schedule and implement sexual victimization awareness and prevention programs in the region.
Complete a minimum of 6 hours of continuing education/year; must include a minimum of 2 hours on child and family issues to keep abreast of new information, skills, and best practices.
Schedule and implement domestic violence awareness and prevention programs in the region.
Contact school administrators or teachers to arrange programs.
Prepare and update materials for program presentations.
Conduct professional training programs for teachers and other school personnel.
Conduct programs for college, community, civic, and church groups, etc.
Act as advisor/educator when necessary to relevant legal, medical, law enforcement, or social service providers concerning sexual and domestic violence issues.
Act as a referral resource for education/prevention informational requests.
Understand and maintain client confidentiality as required by law and funding sources.
Attend trainings to keep abreast of new information and skills.
Be available for extensive travel throughout the service region for presentations and meetings, and other related travel, including training.
Responsible for preparation of reports, monthly data, and other paperwork as required by program funders.
May be required to serve on relevant committees in relation to work issues.
Coordinate and participate in events, awareness activities, and social justice awareness for sexual and domestic violence throughout the region.
Assist with sexual violence and domestic violence crisis line and hotline duty when scheduled or needed.
Other duties as assigned.
