JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: District Systems Specialist
JOB GOAL: Provide District users with a high level of technology support as well as managing and
supporting hardware and software technology tools.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum requirement: 2-year Associates Degree
· Highly proficient use of technology, including current operating systems and software,
including Windows and Microsoft Office
· Microsoft and/or CompTIA A+ Certifications preferred
· Previous experience in school setting desired
· Able to handle multiple priorities and tasks and meet deadlines with severe time
constraints
· Strong organizational skills
· Excellent work ethic and attendance record
REPORTS TO: District Technology/Integration Coordinator and Lead Systems Specialist
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
1. Work cooperatively with all students and adults in a positive manner.
2. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
3. Comprehend and follow written and verbal instruction.
4. Understand and adhere to District and school policies and procedures.
5. Able to set priorities and be attentive to detail.
6. Maintain confidentiality with respect to all district information on the network, including confidential
student, employee, and labor relations information, and ensure confidentiality with respect to all
information accessed during technical support activities.
7. Physically and emotionally able to perform job responsibilities.
8. Demonstrates good moral character and possesses temperate, ethical, and industrious habits.
9. Ability to move from building to building, classroom to classroom during the workday; Generally, the
job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking and 25% standing.
10. Able to ascend and descend ladders and stairs, and lift items of various weights.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Promptly respond throughout the district to Help Desk Tickets submitted and provide support to students
and staff with hardware and software needs.
2. Install, configure, maintain and repair all district hardware including, but not limited to computers,
laptops, interactive boards, printers, document cameras and other technology hardware.
3. Manage student and staff devices ensuring devices are secure, up to date and compliant.
4. Coordinate the installation, and configuration of software upgrades and perform tuning of OS to enhance
PC performance.
5. Assist with the management of systems including, but not limited to, Active Directory, GoGuardian,
Microsoft 365 (Entra and Intune), and Google Workspace.
6. Identify and recommend appropriate technology upgrades and associated expenses.
7. Maintain an accurate inventory of all devices, software, credentials, IP addresses, etc.
8. Assist with installing network cable, terminating network ports, and installing/upgrading Wireless
Access Points.
9. Continue with professional development and stay current with latest advances in information hardware,
software, and application technologies and make recommendations for incorporating into Districts
information systems environment
10. Understand and acknowledge that duties may require availability for emergency, on-call responsibilities.
11. Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 10 Month Contract; Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Non-Exempt
EVALUATION: Annually by the District Technology Director
SALARY: Regionally Competitive
