Water Treatment Manager

Full-Time

Pay range:  $62,500-$84,000

Location: Macomb, IL

The Water Treatment Manager is responsible for oversight of the water treatment plant and distribution system.  They provide ongoing supervision and coordination of the water production staff including work schedules, assigning and reviewing work, training, evaluating performance, interviewing, and recommending the hiring, evaluation and discipline of employees. Keeps and maintains variety of records in the department.  The Water Treatment Manager assists the Public Works Director in developing and managing the operating budget, assessing and specifying Capital needs, and the procurement of materials and supplies.

Minimum Training and Experience Required

Graduation from high school or GED
Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
Five years experience in water treatment and distribution
Possession of a valid Illinois Class A Water Operator’s Certificate or ability to obtain one within 6 months
Five years experience in relevant supervision and management of employees
Working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, Internet Explorer and Excel
Relevant training and experience may be substituted in lieu of education and experience requirements.
