Position: Executive Director
Overview: The Executive Director oversees daily administration and management of the Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce (MACC), including membership development, sponsorship acquisition, program development, public relations, marketing, and financial oversight. The Executive Director supports the Board of Directors by implementing strategic plans, building teamwork, and ensuring accountability.
Reports To: MACC Board of Directors
Education: BA preferred, or equivalent experience.
Experience: 3-5 years of leadership experience in a non-profit, event planning, membership development or related administrative experience is required. Nonprofit experience in membership development, with executive or associate director experience preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Management & Administration
- Develop and implement strategic plans, focusing on membership recruitment and retention, sponsorship, marketing, and organizational growth.
- Ensure legal compliance, program and fiscal accountability.
- Oversee financial records, member databases, and annual budget.
- Support Board development, assist in policy recommendations, and facilitate board meetings.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration with the board.
- Lead sponsorship recruitment and retention efforts to support MACC's mission.
- Work with the staff and board to recruit and retain members, address concerns, and foster engagement.
- Collaborate on program ideas that increase MACC's visibility.
- Manage event logistics and ensure high-quality execution.
- Promote MACC to businesses, media, and stakeholders.
- Oversee publication of newsletters and social media content in alignment with marketing goals.
- Leadership, strategic thinking, initiative, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and customer service skills.
- Proficiency in finance, budgeting, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Quickbooks.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary starts at $44,000 per year.
- One week of vacation after six months. Two weeks of vacation after one year.
- Six paid sick days per year after probationary period.
- Paid holidays.
- Position may be eligible for additional benefits.

Education: Bachelors Degree
