IMEG Corp. is growing, and we’d love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer in our Macomb, IL office . As a Civil Engineer you will be responsible for assisting Project Managers with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications and construction plan preparation. They direct and train Civil Design Technicians and/or Civil Designers.
Independently evaluates, plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. May devise new alternatives/approaches to problems encountered, and able to perform difficult and technically challenging work with a specialty area.
Some key duties and responsibilities include:
Drafting procedures and system requirements of clients.
Various design software.
Coordination of municipal, transportation, traffic and other disciplines.
Complete permit applications for a variety of municipalities.
Flexible pavement design and rigid pavement design.
Geometric pavement and site circulation design.
Preparation of specifications & cost estimates.
Traffic warrants and guardrail warrants.
An understanding of materials and methods.
The Civil Engineer must be able to interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs.
Regularly has work assignments checked by peer or supervisor.
The Civil Engineer will direct and train Civil Designers to assist them in completing reports, exhibits, plans and specifications and permit applications as required by the projects contractual scope.
Additional functions include those listed in Civil Designers’ responsibility.
Ability to consistently produce high quality construction documents.
Key skills and abilities needed for the position are:
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans and drawings;
Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction;
Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Civil 3D software;
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
Education and experience requirements are:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering;
Professional Engineer license;
Minimum four years’ experience
