Tim Waldrop "Close to Home"
WIU art professor Tim Waldrop will have a solo exhibition, "Close to Home", on display February 21 through March 24 at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery. A reception for the artist will be held Tuesday, March 7, 4:30-6:00 p.m. The artist will speak about their work at 5:00 pm. Tim Waldrop was born and raised on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, but has lived and worked in the Midwest since 1998. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Painting & Drawing from William Carey College in Gulfport, Mississippi in 1998 and a Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville in 2001. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Art and Design at Western Illinois University and lives in Macomb with his wife Laura and their three children. Tim initially joined the WIU Department of Art in 2002. He teaches a number of courses including Drawing, Painting, 2D Design, and Art Appreciation. Admission is free and open to the public.
