Supply Chain Management Virtual Info Session
The annual Western Illinois University Supply Chain Management (SCM) Day will be held Wednesday, Sept. 13 in the University Union Ballroom on the Macomb campus.
More than 30 companies will be present to recruit for full-time positions and internships. The event is open to all major and academic disciplines, as well as to WIU alumni and the public. Professional attire and advance registration is requested.
"Although it has looked different over the years, this year marks our 20th SCM Day event at WIU," Management and Marketing Assistant Professor Honey Zimmerman said. "We are once again excited to host industry partners and recruiting companies on the Macomb campus to interact with our students and share the exciting opportunities available in the field of logistics and supply chain management. This is the one event of the year I tell all SCM majors and minors they should be at on campus because it is a day focused on them and the WIU Supply Chain Program."
This year's schedule includes:
Wednesday, Sept. 13, 9 a.m.-noon - Advisory Board meeting with faculty and industry representatives–The purpose of the SCM advisory board is to facilitate the two-way relationship between industry partners and recruiters, and faculty. The goal is for students to get relevant, timely and rigorous education.
Wednesday, Sept. 13, 1-4 p.m. - Representatives from various companies will be present and eager to meet potential interns and employees. As an SCM major, this is the perfect chance to showcase skills and make valuable connections. Students can take advantage of the materials provided at each business's table to learn more about the careers available, as well as enjoy refreshments while networking with fellow students, faculty and industry leaders. Those who have earned SCM scholarships will be recognized during the event.
Thursday, Sept. 14 - On-site interviews
Supply Chain Management Day is sponsored by ADM and WIU SCM.
