Reverend C.T. Vivian 100th Birthday Celebration
In honor of former Macomb resident Reverend C.T. Vivian, the City of Macomb, Macomb Arts Center , and Vivian Foundation Macomb Project will host a celebration on what would have been Dr. Vivian’s 100th birthday. On Tuesday, July 30th the Macomb community is invited to attend the celebration in downtown Macomb.
The Macomb Arts Center will be hosting a reception and opening the exhibit “Select Works from the Art Collection of C.T. Vivian” starting at 5:00PM. As part of Macomb’s celebration of C.T. Vivian's 100th birthday, the MAC will have the privilege of exhibiting select works of art from his extensive collection. This will be the first time any of the collection has been displayed in a public gallery. The reception will include stories and remembrances of Dr. Vivian by several of his children, select music by Chris Vallillo, refreshments, and a cash bar.
Following the reception, we welcome individuals to gather in front of the C.T. Vivian Mural at the 200 Block of Carroll Street for the celebration program. This program will include music, speaker remarks from family members and others, and more beginning at 7:00PM. Limited seating will be available; please feel free to bring your own chairs.
Cake and ice cream will be served after the program in Chandler Park.
