Local Food Business Workshop Series: Financial Management for Small Farms
This free workshop is geared toward local food producers and those interested in starting a small food production business. Speaker Whitney Miller from the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs at Western Illinois University will walk attendees through budgeting basics and record-keeping best practices, including an overview of how QuickBooks Self-Employed can assist small food producers with their record-keeping needs. Attendees will leave with basic bookkeeping skills, a collection of bookkeeping resources for small farmers, and the confidence to begin managing their money to inform production decisions. Attendees are encouraged to bring a device (laptop, tablet, etc.) to the workshop.
