Western Illinois University Athletics will host a Leatherneck Club and Corporate Partners Kickoff on Thursday, August 1, at Western Hall. This event is an opportunity for members of the Leatherneck Club to meet the coaches as the fall seasons get ready to kickoff. 

For local businesses, this event will serve as a free networking opportunity for community and Macomb Area Chamber members and potential Leatherneck Corporate Partners. Leatherneck Athletics, as well as the University, are proud members of the Chamber and welcome the opportunity to host this event to start the 2024-25 sport seasons.

"We have always enjoyed and appreciated the opportunity to connect with our fans and the local business community for Business After Hours events," said Paul A. Bubb, Director of Athletics. "Though we only officially host those every other year, we wanted to continue offering opportunities for connection and networking to help kick off our fall 2024 athletic seasons."

During the event, tours will be available for those interested and will include the Sport Performance lab, football and women's basketball team rooms, and our athletic training facility. Those in attendance will also have a chance to watch a portion of the volleyball team's practice in Western Hall.

A short program will focus on the Leathernecks' second year in the Ohio Valley Conference. Guests will have the opportunity to win some special prizes, including season tickets for football and men's and women's basketball.

The Leatherneck Kickoff will take place from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 1, and guests are asked to park in Q Lot. The reception will be held in the Main Lobby and the Hall of Fame Room at Western Hall.
