DESCRIPTION:Western Illinois University in collaboration with Black Hawk Community College will host a WIU STEM Workshop from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday\, March 1\, on the Macomb campus in Horrabin Hall\, room 62.\n\n\n\nThis workshop invites WIU STEM Education students and in-service STEM educators from either middle school or high school levels to level up STEM teaching curriculums by participating in interactive sessions: engaging in hands-on activities and discussions led by experienced professors\; networking with peers in the field\; and gaining professional development by receiving five PD hours.\n\n\n\nAttendees will learn to discover innovative methods to integrate probability\, combinations and quantum mechanics into STEM lessons through real-world applications and gain hands-on strategies and interactive tools to engage students in abstract concepts while also connecting with peers to enhance teaching practices.\n\n\n\nTo sign up or for more information\, contact WIU Science Education Professor Jose Pavez at jm-pavez@wiu.edu.
