DESCRIPTION:Anders Johnson "Sea Legs"\n\nOn View: October 6   November 12\, 2026\n\nReception: Thursday\, November 12\, 4:30-6:00 pm\n\nUniversity Art Gallery\n\nWestern Illinois University\n\nMacomb\, Illinois\n\n\n\nKentucky artist\, Anders Johnson\, will have his solo exhibition\, "Sea Legs"\, on display October 6 through November 12 at the Western Illinois University Art Gallery. \n\n\n\nAn opening reception for the artist will be held Thursday\, November 12\, 4:30-6:00 p.m. The artist will speak about his work at 5:00 pm.\n\n \n\nAnders Johnson is an artist and educator based in Bowling Green\, Kentucky.  He received a BA from North Park University and an MFA from Indiana University.  He is currently an Assistant Professor of Art/Foundations at Western Kentucky University.\n\n\n\nRecent exhibitions include solo shows at the Tom Thomas Gallery at IU East (Richmond\, IN) and the Red Brick Center for the Arts (Aspen\, CO). He has been included in selected group exhibitions at Warnes Contemporary (Brooklyn\, NY)\, Indy Art Center (Indianapolis\, IN)\, and Buckham Gallery (Flint\, MI)\, among others.  Johnson was featured in New American Paintings and on the Studio Break Podcast.  \n\n\n\nAdmission is free and open to the public. \n\n\n\nParking will be allowed near the gallery starting at 4:00 p.m. on the day of the reception.\n\n\n\nImage: Prolate\, oil and acrylic on canvas\, 16 x 65 in.
